Muffins for Moms

I had the best time with my best boy today. Jackson's school hosted all the class moms for a special Mother's day breakfast. I got the sweetest little hand print and potted flower ever!

I got a little teary-eyed thinking about how big Jackson is now, while I want to hold on to him forever, I am truly love watching him grow and experience new things. I know I say this all the time to him and to everyone, he is a really great kid! I am so proud of him and can't believe he is going to be in elementary school in a few short months. We are going to have a great summer before both my babies are in school come August.

Practicing some skills

Thanks Lucy and Melissa!

Quick thanks to Lucy and Melissa for leading me to some new layouts. How fun!

Just another normal day

Today was a day not unlike most others. It involved taking Jackson to school, going to the gym, lunch with friends and a little shopping with Jillian. Jackson took his Pre-K graduation photos in school today, I can't wait to see them! He also told me all about "when he starts driving," He is 5!!! LOL If the next 10 go as fast as the first 5, it will be here too fast. And Jillian is never going to drive, she is a nut!

Brucie cought a froggy

What a gorgeous spring day! It was warm enough for some more water sliding fun in the back yard but not too hot that you couldn't enjoy sitting in the sun.

While Bruce was enjoying the sun, he found a "friend." This frog was huge and didn't seem to be afraid of Bruce at all! They went nose to nose, Bruce tried to play with him and made him hop about a foot away. Then Bruce laid down across the side walk to block the frog's exit. This stare down went on for some time too!

Oh the Joys of kids and pets...

Another day, another post...

Today was more of the same; Jackson to school, Jillian and I to the gym. I signed Jillian up for a "kids fit" class at the gym thinking she would love to play with her new best bud Jada and some of the other kids but boy was I wrong. She was quite pout-y when I went to get her from the kids room. When I asked if she had fun, she replied "nope, me don't want to do it again." WHAT? Is this my Jillian? She thrives on social situations and being a big girl.

Once in the car she said that 1. the music was too loud 3. someone stepped on her and the big 3. Jada had brought a new friend to the gym and didn't play with her. Jillian's first taste of not being the cool one, the most popular one or the best friend. I really feel for her because I remember how that felt, but kids in that age bracket just don't think about people's feelings yet. Kinda sad how she looked but perked right up with a pack of Tic-Tacs! LOL

I also found Jackson was also in a pissy mood today when I picked him up from school. School is "boring," homework is "boring," going home is "boring." So I can home and sent him to his room until my replacement Jackson arrived. About 10 minutes later, he was ready to build a new Geo Trax and watch some Tom and Jerry.

We ended the night with a bike ride around the neighborhood and some home made frozen blueberry yogurt. I am so glad my kids returned to their happy selves before it was time for bed. I love my little buddies, good and bad, but they are so much more fun (and easier) when they are in their good form

Wow! Posting 2 days in a row!!!

So, today was a great day. Jillian and I started the day our with some Starbucks with good friend Chi-Chi after taking Jackson to school. Jackson, BTW brought his new pet Fuzzy Wuzzy the caterpillar to school! After Starbucks, we pursued Super Target then had lunch at Chick'fila . Jillian threw up her food right there in the dining room, but in less than 60 seconds decided that she was indeed hungry again as started eating right away. LOL, I guess she cleared out some room but felt better.

Jackson had a great day at school, and after coming home for a bit we headed to the gym. My Hubby decided that he wanted to get fit before our trip to Hawaii in July so we went to gym together tonight for a change. It was nice, really nice.

After dinner and cleaning up, Jillian and I were playing house in her room and I had to be the Grandma. Then it hit me - I am old now! I am no longer playing house as the mommy, I am the Grandma! I held the baby and fed her, then Jillian told me it was time to soak my dentures and go to bed. Next time, I am atleast going to be the fun sister or aunt but not the Grandma!!

I am not very good at this!

It's been over a year without a single post to my blog! I might be the worst blogger ever, hard to keep up with Facebook and, I don't know...life?

This year has been especially kind to our family. In a world with a dismal fiscal outlook, our family is more secure then we have ever been. We are debt free except for our home (albeit a huge debt) and that is cause for a party, not too big though - we don't want to spend the money on a big party! LOL

We enjoyed a great trip to Savannah Georgia for spring break, we stayed on River Street over looking the Savannah River. It was great - my sister-in-law Laura (Jon's sister) was also there and the kids had an absolute blast! I have nver seen 4 cousins play so well before!

Jackson is in Pre-K and loving it! I had my concerns about school making breaking his sweet and kind spirt, but it just reenforces that my kids is a great kid! His best bud (most days) is the Boy Jordan, not to be confused with the Girl Jordan. He loves science center and blocks, but don't ask him what he ate for lunch! Oh, he never wants to talk about it. He thinks I ask too many questions about school but I just miss knowing what my boy is doing all the time. I guess it's just the start of him having his own little life away from me - I know, cut the cord!

Jillian is quite the actress. She is very dramatic in her stories and even her dance. Becareful though, she is not always telling the truth. Her best "part" right now is that she is in dance school, her teacher is Miss. Violet and she has a best friend who is like a sister that is in school with her. None of the last sentance is true! She loves fruit and veggies, animals and playing barbie on the beach.

Jon is doing well, working hard at the airport. He is planning on using some of his flight benefits to take me to Hawaii in July, I sure hope it is true. He is the best daddy and husband any girl could want.

I'll try to do a better job of updating this from now on, but don't hold me to it! LOL

We had snow!

Jackson has been alive for almost 4.5 years and the entire time his little eyes have never seen snow. Last week, for some reason, we actually had snow twice in 1 week. Wednesday we had a have "flurry" of now leaving about 1 inch of the white fluffy stuff on the ground only to be melted after the kids went to bed by rain. Luckly, the kids were able to go out and play for a little while while it was coming down but were totally distraught when they awoke to find nothing more than wet grass and cement.

Then on Saturday we got more snow! It started snowing around 11:30am ( I know this because my dear, loving husband woke me up after only 4 hours of sleep after a 12 hour night at work to tell me it was snowing) and it continued until around 7pm. While the ground was a little warm still, about 2 inches stuck. Finally Jackson was able to make a real snow angel and a snowman. We had a blast running and playing in the snow. It was great snow too, perfect for making snow balls!

Just don't mind the mean little sister that runs through the snow angel without a moment's hesitation.

Happy New Year!

8 days into 2008 and it feels like spring has hit in Georgia! The weather was beautiful here today. I had some nice music on while I was making dinner, I could hear the kids running out side and squealing as they tossed leaves and random sports balls at each other. There was a warm breeze running through the house and I just felt like a mom. Does that make sense? I know it sounds funny, and it may have been the 2 glasses of 2 Buck Chuck I had already drank or Taylor Swift singing about love and being happy. I kept peeking out the window to see my babies running around acting like kids should act with no cares or worries. Well, Jackson was a little worried about the ladybug her found and if she was in the right "home."

So many kids right now, this very minute are worrying about their moms being abused, or if they are going to have any food for dinner tonight. I feel so fortunate to have made the right decisions in my life so that my kids can live the carefree life they deserve.
