We are mid-holiday season already!

With Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas around the corner, I just can't believe we are mid holiday season already! Where has this year gone? Thanksgiving was great, I had to work so we did a small dinner at home around 2pm. The word small can only be used to describe the number of people not the quantity of food. With only 7 adults and 4 picky kids, we had a table full of food. I made a 20 pound turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and hash brown casserole. My mom made great dressing, deviled eggs, gravy and a pumpkin pie. My mother in law made sweet potatoes, plantain, rice and peas, ham, and rolls. We were eating left overs for weeks. The best part of that day was the kids playing though! Logan, Lindsay, Jillian and Jackson played like true cousins. They tore apart the house, dressed up like princesses and ate just a little bit of food!

On the following Tuesday, November 27th off we went to Lenox Square Mall to see Santa and ride the Pink Pig. They were scared at first but Jackson was a willing participant and told Santa exactly what he wanted, along with asking how the reindeer were doing in the north pole. Jillian, on the other hand, was screaming and crying on Santa's lap, but her was great and she calmed down, but wasn't all too happy about being there. Jillian, of all the kids I know, has never met a stranger. The rest of the day she talked about "Santa" and how she wants to see him again. Sheesh! The Pink pig was next and oh what fun! Jackson thought it was the coolest "pig train" ever! Both of them have been telling everyone they rode the pink pig!

That afternoon, Jon, the kids and I all went and picked out our tree. It's a little bit Charlie Brown but someone has to love it, right? LOL The kids got such a thrill out of decorating the tree. I think Jillian actually put 15 ornaments on one branch! After we decorated the tree the kids and I cuddled on the couch and watched A Charlie Brown Christmas on TV and they laughed and giggled all the way through. I really think they liked snoopy the best. He is a funny little dog!

We are looking forward to a trip to Florida to see our Grandparents next week, some warm weather and sandy fun should do us some good! Jackson is stoked about the plane ride of course! Happy Holidays!

My kids are actually fun!

I am so in love with my kids right now, not just like I love them because I have to, but because they are so much fun right now! Jillian love to play dress up and dance along with any musice she hears. She also has this knack for remebering lyrics. She sings all kinds of songs off the radio!

Jackson is such a lover, he often (not going to say always because he is only 4 don't ya know) thinks of his sister first when it comes to snacks and toys. He is great at helping me drive by telling me what color the light is and what corresponding actions to take. The only exception is the whole right turn on red concept, he is having a hard time getting that one.

That's my smile...

My little Jilly in Grant Park, downtown Atlanta after a romp through the zoo. The kids had so much fun. They just love seeing all the animals and asking about ones they have not seen yet.

I can't believe how grow up they are sometimes. And smart too! My gosh, Jillian is talking to the monkeys in "oh oh ah ah" language. Jackson is asking about how the elephant sleeps. These kids are my life, I don't know how I would have fun without them!

Pollinate thy self

I just got back from a fantastic California adventure with the Sposa clan: Christen, Dad and Kathy. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest with fantastic food and many many adult beverages.

My Camera had accumulated some dust on the sensor and I just got it cleaned today so I am really enjoying snapping some photos. This shot is one of the beautiful flowers Jon brought home.

Cuts and Coughs

The kids are feeling pretty crummy so we are totally home bound today. I can tell Jillian is already going stir crazy but poor Jackson is just laying on the floor playing with trains and cars. He has a low grade fever and a pretty horrendous cough for one that popped up overnight. I'll just have to watch him closely. I tend to have flashbacks of when he was 18 months and developed pneumonia less then 24 hours from the start of his symptoms. I'm always worried about Jackson and the possibility of him developing asthma like I had growing up.

We went to the Farmers Market yesterday and bought lots of goodies including ingredients for Chicken Souvlaki. I decided that today was a good day to make it since I had the time to make everything and let it marinade. After I squeezed the lemons and mixed the balsamic vinegar, I was slicing some zucchini to add to the marinade and I really sliced my finger, OUCH! I don't think I need stitches but it is a deep one and the lemon juice and vinegar doesn't help the pain. I Hope this dinner is worth the pain LOL!

Movie of the kids

It's a little old but entertaining all the same!

Jackson and Jillian

Brother and sister, they make me so proud! They are such good kids filled with spunk and personality. What would I do without them?

Jackson and Jon both took off across the parking deck outside the aquarium to look at Jackson's new favorite thing...the city! I loved the way the parking deck framed them looking out and how they are holding hands. I really love this photo, so sweet!

The Fabulous 4 J's

That is of course Jon, Jennifer, Jackson and Jillian! After many attempts to keep an online journal for friends and family, I am trying to yet again keep this one going.

We are all doing well. Jon is still slaving in the sun for Delta but we love those flying benefits. I am still helping people become moms for the first time or the 11th, it's always special. My interest in photography has flourished with the purchase of a shoe mount flash and nice macro lens.

The kids are growing up so fast! Jackson has especially changed a lot these last few months. He is talking so much! His verbiage is clear and he knows what to say to get what he wants. He loves doing arts and crafts and is learning to draw trains. He is good at coloring too and just recently started using his "safety scissors." His new obsession seems to be planes and photography (I wonder where he got that from!)

Jillian is a little motor mouth. She is very chatty and witty with a great sense of humor. She enjoys tormenting her brother, coloring, playing with her babies and dressing up. She loves shoes, it's so funny to see her in a shoe store trying on everything.

Our house is for sale, hopefully with any luck we will get our asking price and be moving to the north side of town. If anyone is looking for a nice home, give them our MLS number!
