We are mid-holiday season already!

With Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas around the corner, I just can't believe we are mid holiday season already! Where has this year gone? Thanksgiving was great, I had to work so we did a small dinner at home around 2pm. The word small can only be used to describe the number of people not the quantity of food. With only 7 adults and 4 picky kids, we had a table full of food. I made a 20 pound turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and hash brown casserole. My mom made great dressing, deviled eggs, gravy and a pumpkin pie. My mother in law made sweet potatoes, plantain, rice and peas, ham, and rolls. We were eating left overs for weeks. The best part of that day was the kids playing though! Logan, Lindsay, Jillian and Jackson played like true cousins. They tore apart the house, dressed up like princesses and ate just a little bit of food!

On the following Tuesday, November 27th off we went to Lenox Square Mall to see Santa and ride the Pink Pig. They were scared at first but Jackson was a willing participant and told Santa exactly what he wanted, along with asking how the reindeer were doing in the north pole. Jillian, on the other hand, was screaming and crying on Santa's lap, but her was great and she calmed down, but wasn't all too happy about being there. Jillian, of all the kids I know, has never met a stranger. The rest of the day she talked about "Santa" and how she wants to see him again. Sheesh! The Pink pig was next and oh what fun! Jackson thought it was the coolest "pig train" ever! Both of them have been telling everyone they rode the pink pig!

That afternoon, Jon, the kids and I all went and picked out our tree. It's a little bit Charlie Brown but someone has to love it, right? LOL The kids got such a thrill out of decorating the tree. I think Jillian actually put 15 ornaments on one branch! After we decorated the tree the kids and I cuddled on the couch and watched A Charlie Brown Christmas on TV and they laughed and giggled all the way through. I really think they liked snoopy the best. He is a funny little dog!

We are looking forward to a trip to Florida to see our Grandparents next week, some warm weather and sandy fun should do us some good! Jackson is stoked about the plane ride of course! Happy Holidays!
